sudan: its freezing!!

As soon as i stepped out of the plane i knew instantly something was wrong. I couldnt place it at first, then i realised what it was - it was cold! like 15 degrees or something. i know for some of you this is still summer, but 1. i am used to 20 degrees being 'too cold' and 2. its sudan. its meant to be desert 50 deg. heat. its just wrong:) all i had was a light sweater (after carrying a jacket the last 3 times, and never ever wearing it, i didnt bother this time). And the wierd thing is, the temperature has not changed since. i have worn my sweater every single day. everything else is the same - the sun, the dust, etc. but its 15 deg. cold. check the picture of me slotted with blankie - i had on 2 sweaters under that!

The next morning after i arrived, one of the friends took me to the KH on a tuktuk/rickshaw. anyway, we almost died riding around in this thing - coz of the cold...our teeth were chattering! our driver clearly was a bit more experienced, he was dressed for the weather!

Of course the dust and the blue sky are still the same. So every morning there
is an incredible sunrise, and every evening a beautiful sunset. this is the view out of my window...at 6.45am.

As usual everyone is very hospitable and kind. more on this later.

bye for now from the land of the desert freezing COLD!!!
